I came back and enjoyed my visit again! The coffee toffee cookie was tasty! For some reason I didn't expect it to be crunchy (I mean... it does have toffee in the name though so I could've guessed...) but I liked it. I didn't taste the coffee too strongly, mostly chocolate. I also got a decaf oat mocha (they didn't have soy) but personally I wasn't a fan. I could tell the chocolate in the mocha was good quality but I think it was because I'd just had such a sweet chocolate cookie that it wasn't my fave. The place and merch are just so adorable and I hope to be back soon. Pro tip: ask for your cookie to be warmed!
I ordered cookies shipped to my home years ago, and honestly wasn't that impressed. I figured i may never really know what all the hype is about. After visiting the River North store in Chicago, I now know EXACTLY what it is about! We were in our hometown for the weekend and ending up staying a few blocks from the store. I wanted my mom to experience the cookies to see what she thought as well. We walked to the store and was greeted by a brightly lit small bakery, but they're doing BIG things inside. You're greeted by a glass case with all the options. I ordered the two chocolate chip cookie and the seasonal, chocolate mint cookie! Let me just say, I tried to show restraint and only got two cookies, I was so mad at myself because I needed at least 2 more of the chocolate mint cookies! My mom ordered chocolate chip walnut and I think the caramel coconut chocolate chip, she had finished one of her cookies before we got back to the hotel! The cookies are HUGE and definitely decadent, but they are worth every calorie in my book! Part of me wants us to get a location in Atlanta, but the other part of me is glad that we don't have one!! #justeatthecookie
Levain is some of the best cookies I've ever had! It's been a few years since I stopped in but to this day, I'm still thinking of their delicious cookies. Full of flavor, hot out of the oven. The place itself is small, with no real space to grab a bite and talk so it's recommended to grab some treats and go. Don't let that deter you from stopping in! Amazing cookies and great staff awaits!
Food (cookies) - 5 Service - 5 Ambiance - 5 I was introduced to Levain bakery about 10 years ago in a trip to NYC and ever since I'm back to NY or other city that has Levain Bakeries, this becomes a must to do. My favorite is the oatmeal raisin cookies, it's just perfect. Please open a location in Miami. You get a customer here :) Enjoy!
Levain cookies exceeded the hype! Served warm and soft! Such a treat to get for yourself or order a few to share. Best cookies I've ever had.period.
OMG BEST COOKIES EVER. Literally these were so good. They are a pretty large size and come in a bunch of different flavors. Their special flavor atm is double chocolate peppermint and it is AMAZING. I'm not sure how long it will last so go get it before it's gone. Otherwise the caramel one is so good and the chocolate chip. Truly you can't go wrong. They are also served warm which makes them 100x better.
Finally got the chance to stop by Levain Bakery, and it was worth the wait! I visited during a quiet time, so there was no line, and I was able to order right away. I grabbed an Americano with milk for just $3--a great deal--and treated myself to their seasonal dark chocolate peppermint cookie. While I'm more of a savory person than a sweets fan, I wanted to try at least one food item. Keep in mind that their menu leans heavily toward sweet options, with limited savory choices. Also, there's no seating, so it's more of a grab-and-go spot than a sit-down coffee shop. That wasn't a problem for me, though, as I had planned to take everything to go. The coffee was fantastic--smooth and served at the perfect drinkable temperature. As for the cookie? Absolutely phenomenal! Even as someone who doesn't usually go for sweets, I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you're into sweets, good coffee, and quick, friendly service, Levain Bakery is a must-visit. I'm glad I finally stopped by and will definitely return!
My daughter and I stopped in tonight for the first time! I can't wait to go back already. We ordered a few yummy cookies, some chocolate milk and a gift for a friend. It was a Monday night.. we done street parking very easily and there was no line. The staff was helpful and very nice. It's a small space but was clean and tidy inside.
I have heard so many people rave about Levain, but I have never experienced it for myself until now. Levain is top notch. You walk in and get the cozy smell of fresh baked cookies that smacks you in the face. The overall presentation matches the taste. We ordered 24 cookies for a work event and these cookies were a hit. Ever person was impressed by how large the cookie was and how good they tasted. Nothing compared to these cookies. I am so happy to hear that Levain has made its way to Boston where I am from so i will have plenty more cookies in no time. Definitely try this place out. It is in the middle of the city so no parking but great spot to grab a cookie and walk around.
Ever since I first heard about Levain Bakery in New York, I've been dying to try their famous cookies. So, when I found out one opened in Chicago, I knew I had to go! The store itself is bright and has a charming theme. Their cookies as well as the other baked goods are on display so you can see what you're going to get. I ordered the walnut chocolate chip and dark chocolate chocolate chip cookies, and they were absolutely perfect. These 6oz cookies are HUGE! So I shared them with a friend. They're crispy on the outside and soft with gooey chocolate on the inside. I think they'd be even better warm (I'm not sure if that's an option though), but they were still everything I had hoped and dreamed for.
